2023 Aquila 44 Catamaran

"Going Around" is a 2023 Aquila 44 with only two owners. The original Owner purchased the boat from MarineMax in Pensacola, put just under 200 hours on the boat in three years, and never took the boat more than 10 miles from the marina. It is believed they never even slept on the boat! The current owner purchased the boat in February of 2026 to compete America's Great Loop, a roughly 6,000 mile adventure circumnavigating the eastern United States.

As of the time of this listing, July 30^th, 2026, the boat is in Michigan with 622 hours on the engines. The Owners will be completing the "Loop" within the next 6 weeks, crossing their wake in Pensacola, FL. It is estimated the engines will have approximately 800-850 hours on them, and the generator will have approximately 1,400-1,500 hours on it at that time.

While the Owners do not need to sell the boat, it is their intention to have a new buyer prior to arriving back home. Therefore, this boat is priced for a very fast sale. The owners will be navigating the river systems from Chicago to Mobile, AL and are glad to show the boat at any point along the journey. The owners have been very meticulous about maintaining the boat. Any issues that have arisen have been taking care of immediately. Numerous upgrades have been completed as well. All maintenance has been performed on schedule. No expense has been spared to ensure the boat is safe and fully operational. The Owners are both pilots and build airplanes in their spare time. They treat the boat with the same care and attention as an airplane, including daily checks before staring the engines, washing and cleaning the boat every afternoon, never letting a maintenance issue linger, etc. (these are not your average boat owners). The master head is spacious, with the head, separate walk-in shower with bench seat, vessel sink, vanity top, large mirror, window with privacy blinds, and storage throughout.
• Each guest cabin is accessed by a private stair, with a sliding, lockable door for privacy. Both cabins are nearly identical and feature a queen size bed, abundant storage, and an on-suite head. The guest bathrooms have a walk-in shower, head, long vanity counter top, vessel sink, and large windows with privacy blinds.
• Climate control is provided by a central Webasto chiller connected to four air handlers. The salon and each cabin have their own unit with individual thermostats to ensure everyone onboard is comfortable.
• One of the amazing features of the Aquila 44 is the huge awning window in the galley. The window can be opened and countertop folded down to reveal an indoor/outdoor bar. Two permanent bar stools are conveniently located outside. Transforming the cockpit into your own private bar takes less than 10 seconds!
• The cockpit also features a built-in seating area with table. The table can be lowered and a separate cushion can be placed over the table to create a large lounge area. In addition, two removable carbon fiber poles can be inserted into sockets and a mesh cover extends between them to create shade over the seating area. Blue accent lighting is provided throughout, as well as white LED overhead lighting, to illuminate the space as desired. Storage is provided below the seats and in the floor of the cockpit. Access to both engine bays is located on either side of the cockpit floor.
• The flybridge is huge, seating up to 13 people. The upper helm is located in the center of the flybridge, offering great visibility for safe operation of the vessel. Behind the helm station is a center cabinet, housing the electric cooktop, ice maker, and sink. Storage is also provided in the center cabinet, as well as under each seat. The flybridge is enclosed with strataglass on three sides. This offers great weather and wind protection. Each panel can be raised up and clips to the ceiling of the flybridge, if wanting an unobstructed area.
• A new 12v cigarette lighter outlet was added to the end of the flybridge cabinet. This allows a Dometic Refrigerator/freezer (shown in photos, but not included as a part of the sale) to be installed for added refrigeration storage space. While the owners found the interior refrigerator/freezer to have adequate storage capacity, it is nice to have the ability to add a Dometic full of drinks and frozen foods.
• Covers for all outdoor seating areas are included. These have been used by both owners to ensure the seat cushions are protected from the weather and sunlight.
• Two underwater lights near the stern provide ambiance at night.
• Marine mat flooring was installed in March 2026. The toffee and cream color not only looks amazing, but it is so soft to walk on. It is very comfortable under foot and provides additional slip protection and safety.
• New bottom paint was installed in March 2026 (Pettit – Odyssey Paint). All running gear was coated with Propspeed at the same time.
• The boat is equipped with a Delta anchor, 165’ of chain, and an additional 100’ of backup anchor line. The Quick brand windlass can be controlled from the wired remote at the bow. In addition, the boat comes with a wireless remote for controlling the windlass anywhere on the boat. A fresh water washdown pump and hose is provided in the anchor locker for cleaning the anchor and chain after using.
• There are two water tanks located in the bow lockers, one on either side. Combined, they provide 195 gallons of fresh water storage.
• A Spectra water maker is located in the port side engine compartment.
• The boat has three fuel tanks. One main tank is located in the starboard side engine compartment. The other main tank, and a reserve tank are located in the port side engine compartment. The main tanks hold a total of 295 gallons of diesel. The reserve tank holds an additional 95 gallon, allowing 390 gallons of diesel to be carried on board. Pumps and electronic valves allow fuel to be transferred between tanks as desired.
• Two fixed arms extend out from the stern to hold the dinghy. A dinghy is not included with the sale of the boat, but the Owners have a 6-month-old Highfield 310 with center console for sale separately. The dinghy crane manually extends and rotates to make loading and unloading the dinghy simple.
