PROPULSION & HANDLING

Akula is powered by twin Yanmar 4JH80 diesels, upgraded from the standard configuration to 80 HP per side, with 1,489 hours on the port engine and 1,477 on the starboard. Twin Gori three blade folding propellers with overdrive and cable steering to the rudders round out the running gear. A Suzuki 20 HP outboard powers the tender.

Fuel capacity is 2 x 122 US gallon tanks, fitted with a 500FG turbine series filter and water separator.

ELECTRONICS AND NAVIGATION

The helm is built around a full Raymarine package: a 12" Axiom chartplotter at the chart desk and a 16" Axiom XL with WiFi at the helm, paired with a multizone VHF and AIS700 transceiver at the chart desk and a handheld unit at the helm. Autopilot control is available from both the interior p70s display and the flybridge p70Rs display, plus a wireless remote controller.

Radar is a 4kW HD color radome, and the boat carries wind and depth instrumentation, WiFi/Starlink connectivity, and both forward and rear facing Raymarine cameras. Two radar reflectors are fitted, one on the shroud and one on the mast.

ELECTRIC AND COMFORT SYSTEMS

Power comes from 8 house batteries (12V, 210Ah AGM), charged via 2 Victron Centaur 100A chargers, 2 Victron Phoenix 3000W inverters, and a 2.6 kW solar array combining rigid Sunpower and flexible Solbian panels. A Northern Lights 9kW generator with 625 hours backs up shore power, which is supplied through a single 220V/50A connection.

Climate control is handled by a chilled water A/C system with six handlers rated at 70,000 BTU/h. A Parker Sea Recovery Pro Mini 350 watermaker produces 18 gallons per hour.

GALLEY, SALON, AND ACCOMMODATIONS

The galley is equipped with a Miele 4 burner LPG cooktop, a Force 10 gas oven, and an LG ThinQ 2 in 1 combo washer/dryer. Refrigeration includes a Vitrifrigo DW210 series fridge/freezer combo, a dedicated Vitrifrigo freezer, and an Isotherm refrigerator, with close to nine cubic feet of combined fridge and freezer space.

The cockpit includes an Isotherm ice machine, a transom handheld shower with hot and cold water, and a Kenyon 240V electric grill also plumbed for hot and cold.

A factory optional articulating powered swim platform serves swimming and tender launching. Aft cockpit and flybridge tables are both upgraded teak, and cushions throughout the cockpit, flybridge, and foredeck lounge areas are custom covered. All exterior hardware is stainless steel, and custom Sunbrella covers protect both teak tables, exterior seating, and helm stations, along with a full custom cockpit enclosure.

SAILPLAN

The rig is a Z Spars aluminum mast standing 77'2", with a bowsprit fitted. The mainsail is an Ullman pin head design in Dacron at 972 square feet, with a custom oversized lazy bag and lazy jacks.

The headsail is an Ullman furling genoa in Dacron at 688 square feet. An Oxley Levante parasail is also included.

Sail handling is aided by 3 electric Lewmar dual speed winches at the helm, built for shorthanded sailing.

SAFETY AND ANCHORING

Safety equipment includes a first aid kit, 8 fire extinguishers, an Arimar Atlantic ISO 9650-1 A liferaft, and a cockpit mounted portable EPIRB. Protection from the elements comes from a hard top with a skylight over the helm and full coverage over the aft deck, a dodger, an over boom flybridge bimini, and a custom full helm enclosure.

Ground tackle is a 65 lb Rocna plow anchor on 100 meters of 10mm chain, with no additional rode, backed by a 35 lb Rocna plow as a secondary anchor. A Lewmar vertical windlass with handheld remote handles retrieval.

The mooring kit includes 7 black 36" x 12" fenders, dock lines in both 70' and 25' lengths, and a 50' heavy gauge shore power cable. Tender duties are handled by a 13' Zodiac RIB with a Suzuki 20 HP four stroke outboard, folding anchor, and dedicated anchor locker.
