Description

GIVE’R is a high quality, robust, comfortable and fast aluminum monohull sailing yacht designed by Simonis Voogd Yacht Design. She was built in 2012 by Jacobs Bros, a highly regarded boatbuilder in Cape Town, South Africa, specializing in custom aluminum yachts. GIVE’R holds a Category A – Ocean Lloyd’s Building Certificate.

GIVE’R features a powerful cutter rig, twin rudders, and a hydraulic lifting keel to provide excellent sailing performance with access to shallow waters.  In addition to her head turning good looks, GIVE’R is a safe and spacious blue water cruiser, fully equipped for extended voyages, with all the luxuries of a modern cruising sailboat. Her hard dodger offers excellent shelter and visibility; her dinghy garage offers convenience and storage typically found on larger yachts.  She is a pleasure to sail, motors well under power and is easily managed by a couple or shorthanded crew.

GIVE’R was built for an experienced Dutch couple who completed a multiyear circumnavigation. Her current owners are experienced circumnavigators, who purchased GIVE’R in 2023. They completed an extensive refit and equipment upgrade with the purpose of high latitude sailing and rounding of Cape Horn.  They have meticulously maintained GIVE’R with a philosophy required for safe sailing in remote regions; proactive and preventative care, focused on reliable functioning of all vessel systems, coupled with extensive spares inventory. GIVE’R was born to roam the world’s oceans and is ready for her next adventures.

GIVE’R (meaning: Canadian slang for “give it all you’ve got”) is registered in Canada, official registration number 847083. Currently located in Panama, en route to Eastern Caribbean or possibly East Coast USA.

Beyond Yacht Group is pleased to assist you in the purchase of this vessel. This boat is centrally listed by Swiftsure Yachts. It is offered as a convenience by this broker/dealer to its clients and is not intended to convey direct representation of a particular vessel

DECK & HULL:

GIVE’R has a bare aluminum hull which is durable and requires minimal maintenance. In 2023 her teak deck and exterior coatings were professionally removed using media blasting.  This was followed by installation of new non-slip decking and red vinyl accent stripes.

  • Unpainted hull in 5083 aluminum alloy of robust construction consisting of frames and stringers with shell plating
  • TBSafe 21 marine non-slip decking (polyurethane elastomer by Proople, France), installed on deck, cabintop, and top of dodger (2024)
  • Red vinyl wrap finish on dodger and two stripes on hull (2024)
  • Teak decking in cockpit (floor and seating)
  • Below waterline – six layers of protective epoxy coating (Interprotect 2000E), primer (Primocon) primer (redone in 2024) and multiple coats of antifouling paint (Tirlux 33)
  • Vessel layout is that of three compartments (anchor/sail locker, cabin compartment and aft lazarette/dinghy garage) separated by aluminum bulkheads, minimizing opportunity for water intrusion into cabin areas

  • Comfortable and sheltered cockpit with hard dodger (opening hatch for ventilation)
  • Large forward locker with sail and anchor storage, housing windlass and bow thruster, the aluminum bulkhead between main cabin is fully watertight
  • Large aft lazarette, in addition to general storage it is designed to house a 3m RIB. The aluminum bulkhead to main cabin is watertight up to the location of steering cables. Access though hatch from cockpit and exterior door at stern (new seals - 2024), which also forms a spacious swim platform.

STEERING & KEEL:

GIVE’R has dual steering wheels with twin rudders offering efficient steering and redundancy. Because each helm station and independent steering cable drives its own rudder, a breakage in one system leaves the second fully functional.  A connecting link ensures both rudders stay perfectly synchronized.  This design also offers better cockpit space, improved visibility, and superior handling when heeled. GIVE’R lifting keel offers the ultimate benefits of sailing performance with access to shallow water cruising grounds. The keel lifts to the height of the rudders and, according to her designer, she can be beached (not tried by owners).
