Description

ON DISPLAY AT THE ANNAPOLIS SAILBOAT SHOW | D-DOCK | OCTOBER 15-18

VIVERE is a 2011 Southerly 57RS Raised Saloon Cutter, designed by renowned naval architect Ed Dubois and built by Northshore Yachts in the UK. As the flagship of the Southerly variable-draft range, the 57RS was conceived to combine true ocean-crossing capability, shallow-water freedom, elegant raised-saloon living, and sophisticated shorthanded sailing systems—all with the feel and finish of a much larger yacht.

The design brief is immediately apparent: VIVERE was built for owners who want to sail far, live aboard in first-class surroundings, and explore anchorages that most yachts of this size can only dream of reaching.

Her hydraulic swing keel gives her an extraordinary 4' draft with the keel raised and 10'9" fully deployed, allowing her to move effortlessly between shoal-water cruising and serious offshore sailing. With the keel down, she gains the lateral resistance, stability, and windward performance expected of a deep-draft ocean-going yacht. With the keel raised, she can access shallow anchorages, rivers, bays, and tucked-away harbors far beyond the reach of most 57-foot yachts.

Twin rudders, a long waterline, fine entry, beam carried well aft, and a substantial grounding plate contribute to a yacht that is remarkably stable offshore, easy to manage, and unusually versatile for her length. She can also be safely grounded on her keel pad and twin rudders—an extraordinary advantage for exploring remote cruising grounds.

ON DECK

VIVERE offers a large, secure aft sailing cockpit designed for comfortable entertaining and easy shorthanded operation. The cockpit comfortably accommodates 10 guests and features twin carbon-fiber wheels, redundant helm electronics, push-button sail handling, and excellent visibility.

Bow and stern thrusters provide exceptional control in close quarters. A hydraulic transom door opens to a private beach-club-style platform, while the hydraulic tender garage houses her 2025 Williams 285 Turbo Jet tender.

The teak decks and stainless-steel hardware have been exceptionally well maintained and present beautifully. Generous side decks and excellent access to the foredeck make moving around the yacht safe and effortless. Two forward-facing Gin & Tonic seats, positioned port and starboard at the transom, provide an especially inviting place to enjoy the view underway or at anchor.

THE RAISED SALOON

Inside, VIVERE's Raised Saloon is stunning—bright, spacious, and commanding. Dubois' signature teardrop windows flood the interior with natural light while providing extraordinary visibility from the elevated living areas.

The interior, styled by Rhoades Young, combines Crown Cut teak joinery with leather and stainless-steel accents to create an atmosphere that feels much more like a superyacht than a conventional semi-custom cruising yacht.

The result is a sophisticated yet genuinely practical interior designed for extended time aboard, whether crossing an ocean or spending weeks exploring remote anchorages.

SYSTEMS & UPGRADES

VIVERE has been thoughtfully and extensively updated, including a 2023 150 HP Yanmar 4LV150 diesel, Lithionics lithium house batteries, 800W solar array, DC watermaker, updated B&G electronics, Starlink, recent drivetrain improvements, bow and stern thrusters, and a new Code Zero.

Her extensive summer 2026 shipyard period included significant work to the mast, keel, hydraulics, hull, mechanical systems, and cockpit.

For an owner seeking serious blue-water capability, high-end liveaboard comfort, and the freedom to explore shallow cruising grounds without sacrificing sailing performance, VIVERE is a rare and compelling offering.

INTERIOR ACCOMODATIONS AND LAYOUT

VIVERE's interior is one of the defining features of the Southerly 57RS. Designed by Rhoades Young, it combines Crown Cut teak joinery, high-quality 316 stainless steel, plush leather accents, sculpted handrails, raised seating, and abundant natural light to create an interior that is warm, substantial, and unmistakably premium.

The Raised Saloon layout places the yacht's primary living areas exactly where they belong on an offshore cruising yacht: secure, connected to the cockpit, and surrounded by visibility.

From the cockpit, the main companionway leads into the Raised Saloon, with the dining and living area to port, twin leather lounge chairs to starboard, and the navigation station aft to port.

Forward of the saloon, the galley and chef's nook form a highly functional working and living area while remaining connected to the yacht's social center.

The full-beam owner's suite is forward, with a centerline queen berth. This arrangement is a refreshing alternative to the more conventional aft master found on many cruising yachts. The suite is generous, private, and inviting, with an office/desk area, vanity, excellent full-length lockers and storage, and a generous en-suite head with separate walk-in shower stall.

Aft of the saloon and down to starboard are two guest cabins and a second full head with separate stall shower and washer/dryer, creating a proper three-cabin, two-head layout well suited to extended cruising with family and guests.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

BROKER’S COMMENTS

VIVERE is one of the most compelling high-quality, original sailing yachts available in the sub-60-foot blue-water market. She does something very few yachts can do—and does it exceptionally well: she combines serious offshore capability, refined luxury, sophisticated shorthanded sailing systems, and genuine shoal-draft freedom in one remarkably versatile yacht.

The Southerly 57RS is not simply another conventional center-cockpit cruiser. Her Dubois/Rhoades Young pedigree and Raised Saloon configuration reflect a distinctly more sophisticated approach to ocean cruising. She was conceived with the mindset of a much larger yacht, yet remains manageable by a capable couple.

The swing keel is a headline feature, but it is anything but a gimmick. Keel down, VIVERE delivers the bite, lateral resistance, stability, and windward performance expected of a serious offshore yacht, with significantly reduced heel. Keel up, she transforms into something altogether different: a 57-foot yacht capable of exploring shallow anchorages, rivers, Bahamas-style cruising grounds, and tucked-away harbors that most yachts of this size simply cannot reach.

Her ability to safely ground on her keel pad and twin rudders further expands her cruising possibilities and makes her an unusually practical long-distance yacht.

Her interior is equally important. The Raised Saloon delivers exceptional visibility, natural light, and livability both underway and at anchor. The three-cabin, two-head arrangement provides privacy and generous storage for extended periods aboard, while the full-beam owner's suite forward, aft guest accommodations, chef's nook, and elevated navigation station create an interior that feels remarkably connected and cohesive.

And VIVERE has not simply been maintained—she has been meaningfully updated.

Lithium power, solar, Starlink, a DC water maker, updated B&G navigation electronics, recent drivetrain improvements, a freshly refinished carbon rig, powered sail handling, bow and stern thrusters, and a 2025 Williams jet tender all contribute to a yacht designed for contemporary cruising.

Her extensive summer 2026 shipyard period adds another level of confidence, with significant work completed to the mast, keel, hydraulic systems, hull, mechanical systems, and cockpit.

For the adventurous owner who wants a yacht capable of crossing oceans, cruising shallow water, living aboard in genuine comfort, and wants to stand apart from the usual blue-water offerings,

VIVERE deserves your serious attention.
