A new beavertail bulb keel, larger rudder, and modernized rig design resulted in the Tartan 28 Piper, a modern take on a Tartan classic! Built from solid, hand-laid fiberglass below the waterline, and balsa-cored sections in the deck, the boat is stiff, rugged, and lighter than its predecessor, giving her better light air sailing characteristics and responsive club racing capabilities. In addition, she makes for a comfortable coastal cruiser or weekender, all in a package that is easy to sail, dock, and maintain.
